blade & soul assassin guide

Assassin is a fast DPS class with high mobility in Blade & Soul online. Assassin’s stealth stance (invisible), allows them to move freely around their enemy without being seen. Once they are in stealth stance, movement and evasion will increase. Assassins have a few skills which allow to move instantly to enemy back. Assassin relies on their poison stacking to deal high damage to enemies.

Assassin is pretty hard to play due to their complicated skill mechanics. Assassin is mostly a 1v1 dps class, and most of the crowd control (cc) need stealth stance and/or has skill activation requirement. Assassin also relies heavily on poison stacking. There are two major types of play styles which are affected by the skills you decide to spend SP on. It is a difficult class to master; you need a lot of practice and also decent ping xD

List of Poison Stacking Skills

  • Venom Slash (3)– Tier 5 Stage 4; normal hit inflicts 1 stack of poison; critical hit inflicts 2 stacks of poison.
  • Venom Pierce (RB)– Tier 3 Stage 1; inflict 1 stack of poison
  • Poison Breath (4)– Tier 3 Stage 1; this skill does 5 hit per cast = 5 stacks of poison.

However, for a boss target with CC bar, you have to apply 1 stack of poison on it first, followed by a full CC to inflict 5 stacks of poison with the skill. .

Assassin PVE Guide

This guide is based on the new 3.0 update. My Assassin is now level 50 hongmoon level12 with level5 hongmoon skills unlocked. Total skill point is 57.  Currently my build is based on visible (disruption stance) play style combo.

Mist Slash (LB)

Tier 5 Stage 2 (Hongmoon Skill)

Enemies under poison will receive additional damage. It recovers 1 chi with normal hit;  critical hit recover additional 1 chi (total of 2 chi). Venom Pierce (RB) is available on critical hit.

Tier 5 Stage 1 (Hongmoon Skill)

Enemies under stun and daze will receive additional damage. It recover 1 chi with normal hit; critical hit recover additional 1 chi (total of 2 chi).  On critical hit, next Heart Stab is guaranteed to be a critical hit.

Note: If your critical rate is high. Is better to go for Mist Slash Tier 5 Stage 2, as it can activate Venom Pierce (RB). However, it would be fine if you wish to spec Stage 1. Basically, the choice is dependent on personal preference.

Heart Stab (RB)

截图_151212_025

Tier 5 Stage 1 (Hongmoon Skill)

Heart Stab is the main dps skill of an Assassin, and it has dark and thunder element. Dark for visible and thunder for invisible stance. This skill require 2 chi; it recovers 1 chi on critical hit . Maintain in stealth when using it. Can be instantly cast when you are under stealth stance, or when the target is stunned, daze, with 5 stacks poison, gripped or force gripped. Dark Strike, Lightning Pierce ( F key skill) is available. The cast speed increases too.

Venom Pierce

截图_151213_002

Venom Pierce is an overlapping skill that shares the same hotkey as Heart Stab (RB). It has dark element, and allows you to stack 1 poison. It is available on counter 0.5 sec with Decoy (2) or Mist Slash Tier 5 Stage 2 critical hit. Cannot be used on enemies with 5 stacks of poison. And the cooldown is 8sec.

Note: This skill is one of your poison stack skill.

Hello, I am a lvl 20 assassin. Do you recommend me to to play perma stealth style or go for perma stealth or visible playstyle?
Can you tell me which skills to speck, I am still a noob so I’m not too sure which ones to spec.

What crit % need for visible play style at 50+ patch?

Gucci

Best is above 60%. You still can play visible play style below 60% but Your skill Heart stab would crit so much. Because if heartstab don’t crit you can’t use your Dark Strike.

I’m confused as to how we are supposed to unlock the skills that say “Hongmoon Secret Technique”.. Google isn’t providing much help either.

chaose5

i don’t think you can unlock yet since BnS NA/EU just started.

Each skill hongmoon secret is unlocked through different method. For BNS CN, the guide is here: http://www.freedomplays.com/blade-soul-unlocking-hongmun-skill/

But NA/EU version might be different from CN

What about 45lvl patch NA/EU?

Eggs is right. Due to Lvl 45 cap stealth style is better. Because Visible style require manual poisons stack up a lot. Without hongmoon skill you still can stack up poison but take long time to stacks up to 5x poison.

Eggs

at cap both stealth n visible playstyle is doable with high crit, even if we lack certain hongmoon skills. Tho most ppl say stealth style is better for 45 cap
